Individuals with a strong sense of well-being have inner resources to withstand the strain of crisis, trauma, stress and the skills to handle a wide range of situations.   The sense of well-being includes skills of communication with the self and others through productive (not destructive) styles, assertiveness vs aggressiveness, expressions of emotions effectively, appropriate decision-making with comfort and confidence over one’s life.   This course focuses and equips learners with skills (on the ‘hows’) on confidence building with a strong sense of self-identity as well as connection with others around.  

The key concepts in this course are based on the trainer’s 2019 published book – ‘Do I Matter?’

 

Learning Outcome

At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Define Self-Esteem and Confidence
  • Identify their perceptions of the external world and the influence on self-concept
  • Identify life choices – what can I do Vs what I cannot do
  • Apply skills to deal with and express emotions effectively
  • Apply skills for self-affirmations regardless of situations
  • Take steps to reach out and engage with others

WONG LAI CHUN (MSc, BA, DIP TM, Cert Counselling) was the Senior Assistant Director of Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) – a 24 hour hotline suicide prevention centre and the author of the book published in 2019 – ‘Do I Matter’. She is also a Certified Behavioural Consultant and Life Coach. (Institute of Motivational Living Inc (USA) American University of NLP)

She has many years of experience training locally and internationally and speaks at international conferences and company-wide events, as well as on radio and TV programmes.
