Many non-profit organisations conduct annual strategic planning and thereafter set objectives to be deployed to the operations. Operation departments need to translate these objects into actionable goals and identify problems and opportunities for improvement. There is a need to establish measures to assess the performance of the operations so that the process owners can drive improvement initiatives at the workplace.

 

The process owners need to be able to identify problems and improvement opportunities so that they can apply scientific methodologies and tools to develop and implement improvement initiatives at the workplace. People at the workplace need to collaborate in small groups to apply innovative problem solving methodologies, understand the roles of various stakeholders and overcome team dynamic issues during the improvement process. The course will allow the learning of time-tested innovative 8D problem solving methodology and tools to assist non-profit organisations in their drive towards higher performance.

Learning Outcomes – You will be able to:
  • Discuss improvement concepts, principles and metrics in the context of non-profit operations.
  • Understand factors that affect performance at the workplace.
  • Utilise the concept of 7 wastes of operations for identifying workplace problems.
  • Understand the characteristics of a problem and write effective problem statements.
  • Collaborate in Small Group Activities utilising innovative 8D methodology and related tools to solve problems and improve performance.
  • Able to play a leading role and/or participate in activities to drive problem-solving or performance improvement at the workplace.

Mr Kelvin Chan

Mr Kelvin Chan is a Fellow Certified Management Consultant, Trainer and Executive Coach, specializing in the field of corporate productivity and business excellence for the last 30 years.

 

He assists corporations including MNCs and SMEs in improving productivity, quality and environment performance. He serves as a Technical Expert in productivity at the Asian Productivity Organization. He has trained many consultants and trainers in productivity related subjects from many countries in Asia, Africa and South America.
