Effective Communication During Life Transition
Ever notice that men and women communicate very differently? Older persons and younger persons also communicate very differently! Men tend to be direct and speak straight to the point whereas most women wish to build rapport before breaking the bad news. Men and women communicate very differently and they have tendencies in their difference perspective of life, issues and problems. In order to understand your spouse and family at home and to work well with people when socialising with the communities during your retirement years, it is vital to understand how men and women think manage issues and communicate differently.
Learning Outcomes – You will be able to:
- Learn about yourself and how you communicate
- Analyse your target audience and understand gender differences
- Ascertain which aspect of the idea or conversation you wish to focus on
- Decipher the research that looks at the best way to understand the issues of gender differences
- Enlighten your ideas about your own gender and the opposite gender and enrich your home and work environment with enhanced communication

Dr Anne Marie Gutierrez has worked and travelled widely as a broadcast journalist, trainer, community service and voluntary service educator. She holds a Doctorate in Business, Master’s degree in Social Work and Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Political Science.
Dolly Yeo is a Certified Life Coach at Mindset Coaching since 2003 and is a Certified Behavioural Consultant, with a Specialist Diploma for Service Excellence and Diploma in Leadership and People Management.
